Very sad news
We had some very sad news this morning. Our lovely volunteer Gill Start has died.

Gill and her husband Kitt joined our merry band of volunteers in 2022 after retiring and moving to the local area. Gill was a dedicated volunteer at Portico, giving up many hours to help in the community and always bringing a smile, jolly attitude and heaps of giggles not to mention a silly costume!
Chemo in recent months did not stop Gill volunteering. If you saw her in the last few weeks you'd never have guessed she was so unwell - testament to her unending ability to radiate positivity. As another volunteer put it today, she didn't let the cancer dim her sparkle.
She really was a remarkably kind and warm soul. She shall be much missed.
