Unique, fabulous and funny

The legendary, much loved radio series The McCooeys was broadcast on the BBC Northern Ireland Home Service between 1949 and 1955. Relating the often comic lives of the McCooey family, their relatives, friends and neighbours, it was enthusiastically followed by hundreds of thousands of listeners and is still fondly remembered.

These screenings include performances filmed in Portico in 2021 with a cast including Dan Gordon, Christina Nelson, Hannah Carnegie, Patrick McBrearty, Maria Connolly, and Colin Carnegie.

“Unique, fabulous and funny [with] some of Northern Ireland’s finest acting talent.” Jane Hardy
